How to add VMware vSphere Servers to Veeam Backup and Replication v12

The purpose of this blog post is to provide the guidance and the steps needed to add a VMware vSphere server to Veeam Backup and Replication. For the purpose of this demo, I am currently using v12 of Veeam Backup and Replication (VBR). Once VBR has been successfully launched, please select the Backup Infrastructure view and then select Add Server from the Inventory pane. At the Add Server window, please select the desired server type. In this case, we will select VMware vSphere followed by vSphere.

Starting with the New VMware Server window, you will be prompted for a Name and Credentials. Once this information has been provided successfully, please select Finish at the Summary window to proceed.

You’ll notice the VMware vCenter server is now listed under Backup Infrastructure.

Thank you to everyone at Veeam, the Veeam Vanguard Program and the #vCommunity for your support, including the opportunity to share my experience with you.

If I have missed anything or if you have any suggestions, please let me know. If you’re interested in anything related to Veeam on my blog, please click on this link.
