The purpose of this blog post is to provide the guidance and the steps needed to install Veeam Backup & Replication v12 build 12.0.0.1420. Please keep in mind, upgrades from any previous builds is not supported. I was previously using v12, build 12.0.0.817 and only clean installs are permitted.
** This guides applies to my personal home lab environment so please proceed with caution and take the appropriate steps including documentation to ensure you have a successful backup. **
This should be a relatively short and straightforward post, so let’s begin.
- Download the latest ISO from this build Veeam.com.
- Once the ISO has downloaded successfully, you’ll next need to mount it:


- Next, double-click on the Setup file and then select Install:


- Select Install Veeam Backup & Replication:


- Accept the License Agreement and if you don’t have a license, please select Next to proceed with the installation of the Community Edition:


- A System Configuration Check is initiated and any Missing Features will be installed automatically. Click Install to begin:


- The installation will then proceed to go through the various steps (not all the steps were captured in the screenshots below):


- As you can see from what I’ve shared in this post, the experience is slightly different and has improved from what was observed in my v12 Beta 2 post found here.
- Select Finish to complete the installation and below is confirmation the installation was a success:
