Installing Veeam Backup & Replication v12, build 12.0.0.1420

The purpose of this blog post is to provide the guidance and the steps needed to install Veeam Backup & Replication v12 build 12.0.0.1420. Please keep in mind, upgrades from any previous builds is not supported. I was previously using v12, build 12.0.0.817 and only clean installs are permitted.

** This guides applies to my personal home lab environment so please proceed with caution and take the appropriate steps including documentation to ensure you have a successful backup. **

This should be a relatively short and straightforward post, so let’s begin.

  • Download the latest ISO from this build Veeam.com.
  • Once the ISO has downloaded successfully, you’ll next need to mount it:
  • Next, double-click on the Setup file and then select Install:
  • Select Install Veeam Backup & Replication:
  • Accept the License Agreement and if you don’t have a license, please select Next to proceed with the installation of the Community Edition:
  • A System Configuration Check is initiated and any Missing Features will be installed automatically. Click Install to begin:
  • The installation will then proceed to go through the various steps (not all the steps were captured in the screenshots below):
  • As you can see from what I’ve shared in this post, the experience is slightly different and has improved from what was observed in my v12 Beta 2 post found here.
  • Select Finish to complete the installation and below is confirmation the installation was a success:
