Synology Cloud Sync

Per Synology, “Cloud Sync integrates the advantages of public cloud and private cloud, enabling you to effortlessly connect your Synology NAS to public cloud services, such as BackBlaze B2, Dropbox, Google Cloud Storage, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack Swift, and more”

The purpose of this blog post is to provide the guidance and the steps needed to install and configure Synology Cloud Sync for your respective Synology NAS. In my case, I will be doing so for my Synology DS723+. Once you’ve successfully logged into your Synology NAS, select Package Center from the desktop interface and proceed with the installation.

Once the Cloud Sync application has been successfully install, it will appear under Installed in the Package Center. Select Open to proceed.

Upon launch, you will be presented with the following Cloud Provider options. Select your preferred provider and then Next to proceed. For the purpose of this post, I selected Google Drive and I was then required to authenticate to my Google account.

You can keep track of the status or if you’re interested in additional statistics, you can select any of the options provided. The include Task List, Schedule, Settings, and History.

The time to sync your Google Drive to your Synology NAS using Synology Cloud Sync can vary, but I’ve included in image below to demonstrate how effective Synology Cloud Sync is.

This concludes this blog post. If I have missed anything or if you have any suggestions, please let me know.
